In a shocking turn of events, Taylor Swift has made headlines once again, but this time it's not for another chart-topping hit or losing the rights to all of her own music. No, this time, it's for a trade request that is sending shockwaves through the world of sports and entertainment. The pop sensation, fresh off the Kansas City Chiefs' loss to the Denver Broncos, has reportedly requested a trade to NFL quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Yes, you read that right, folks, Taylor Swift wants to trade in her Travis Kelce pin-up poster for a Jimmy G bobblehead.
It was a wintery Sunday afternoon in Denver as the Chiefs came to presumably stomp all over the mostly-desperate Broncos. The game ended in a shocking defeat for the Chiefs, leaving fans in despair and Swift's Instagram comments section filled with messages like “😭😭👎🔴🤍” or others like “🤣🐎🍑🦶!!! 🔶🔷🔶🔷”.
Despite not attending the game herself, Taylor Swift decided that enough was enough. She walked straight into the Kansas City headquarters with a notepad full of trade demands, completely bypassing her current boyfriend Travis Kelce. When she handed the list to Chiefs' management, they were flabbergasted. Topping the list was a request for a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders, with Jimmy Garoppolo as her "designated boyfriend."
"I've been a Chiefs fan for like, a whole 6 weeks now," Swift explained in her trade request letter. "But it's clear that the universe wants me to move on. Jimmy Garoppolo has that Spanish soap-opera, strong-jawed thing going on that I just can't resist. Plus, I’ve heard he has played for a lot of teams so he must be pretty good at throwing the football.”
The Raider’s front office has yet to comment on the matter, but one can only imagine the negotiations that might take place. Will they agree to Swift's demand for a special guitar in the shape of Jimmy’s face? What will Jimmy's wife think? Will Taylor reconsider when she sees Mark Davis for the first time?
Jimmy Garoppolo has not yet weighed in on the situation. Although he is probably tired from throwing all those balls to Lion’s players last night.
Travis Kelce experienced a jaw-dropping amount of popularity after it was announced that he was dating Taylor over a month ago. As of the writing of this article, Garoppolo’s Instagram followers have already nearly doubled, from 16 to a whopping 31.
